Nava Hemyari studied composition at the mdw with Wolfgang Suppan from 2012 to 2017 and electroacoustic composition with Karlheinz Essl from 2012 to 2020. In addition, she attended workshops with Klaus Lang, Beat Furrer and Georg Friedrich Haas, among others. Already during her studies, she composed a piece for organ, which Wolfgang Kogert performed at the Hofburgkapelle in Vienna. Since 2015 she has also been working with her voice (soprano), for which she wrote and performed a number of pieces herself. She has also sung in performances by Kolleg:innen. She is particularly interested in the speculative nature of music, which, without language or imagery, has an extensive range of interpretation, although recently she has also been consciously working with language and imagery for her compositions in order to influence audiences in other ways. For her works for voice, she also uses text on a purely formal level, for instance as a structuring element of her compositions, among other things by searching for sound colours that conceptually fit the chosen texts. She has written three short films, which she also directed, and a music video. Her works and installations have been presented at the VLAK Gala, the Wiener Konzerthaus, echoraum, Salzburger Künstlerhaus, Schoenberg Center Wien and on Radio Ö1, among others.

n 2020, her organ piece Earsore was premiered at the Michaelakirche and her duet Cosas Pequeñas (Little Things) was performed at the opening of the Divertimento Ensemble Festival. In 2022, Nava received the City of Vienna's working scholarship for composition for her chamber opera ,,Taxidermic'' and in 2023 she has received the state scholarship. In 2023 she was the Composer in Residence in the Festival Imago Dei alongside Peter Ablinger and had world premieres in with Company of Music and in the Festival Wien Modern with Black Page Orchestra.
